Youchaou teachers working in groups

As part of the Embassy Speaker Program, Patrick Fayaud, Section Leader for the USAID Education Team, provided a workshop on “Creative Instructional Methods” to 22 teachers of Youchaou School, in Kalabancoro-Nerecoro.  The mission of the Youchaou school is to bring quality education to one of Bamako’s poorest communities.  The workshop introduced ways to make students more active, explained the function of making mistakes in the learning process, and highlighted methods which teach students “how to learn.” The teachers took part as if they were in fact their students.  Embassy Fulbright alum Oudou Sanogo,  now a teacher at the Youchaou school, requested this topic as a part of the Mission Speaker Program.
