Ambassador McCulley Donates Sewing Machines to Malian Women's Associatio

During the month of March 2007, U.S. Embassy Bamako hosted a variety of events in observation of International Women's Month.  The events, which ranged from sponsoring a dance performance "Femmes, femmes, femmes" in the Embassy atrium to donating Shared Future sewing machines to women's associations to hosting an ARS video conference for Malian businesswomen, highlighted American belief in the critical role played by women in social, political, and economic development around the world.  The programs also honored the determination and strength of Malian women.
