Refugee and Asylee Processing

Refugee and Asylee cases are initiated in the United States by the primary petitioner.  Once the Department of Homeland Security has approved the petition and it is received by the U.S. Embassy in Bamako, Mali, beneficiaries will be requested to come to the Embassy for an interview.

To check on the status of a refugee or asylee petition, please email the Consular Section at consularbamako@state.gov or call +(223) 2070-2505 only on Thursdays from 8 to 10.
Walk-in hours: Thursdays: 10:00 a.m - 12:00 p.m

For more information on asylee processing please visit the Department of Homeland Security’s website at http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/services/asylum/index.htm.
