US Embassy Participates in Bamako Student Fair

First Annual Student Fair at National Museum

The first annual Salon International de l’Etudiant, held at the Musée Nationale this past weekend, highlighted opportunities for Malian students to study abroad as well as to pursue advanced studies in Mali.  The fair was a resounding success, attracting more than 1300 visitors.  The US tent was an important sponsor and presence at the fair, which included tents from several other national missions.  PA personnel  and a host of volunteers staffed the tent, including Malian graduates of American universities who could share their personal experiences.  The US exhibit provided information on student visas, local English programs, the US educational system, and answered student questions.  The fair was a wonderful opportunity for direct contact with the public and to advertise the services that Embassy’s Information Resource Center (IRC) provides for students and professionals alike.
