Information Resource Center

The Information Resource Center (IRC) is the hub for U.S. Embassy Bamako’s outreach programs. The IRC maintains a reference library, offers cultural and educational programs, and coordinates the Embassy’s American Corners.

Hours
Monday - Thursday: 8:30 – 16:30
Friday: 8:30 – 11:00

Resources
The IRC works to meet the needs of students, government officials, journalists, researchers, academics, and others. Our resources include:
Computer Lab with 8 computers for Internet and word processing use;
Reading Room with more than 3,500 books and 40 magazine titles for readers of all ages;
• Research Assistance with access to electric journals and librarian support.
Audiovisual Resources with a large screen TV and also individual viewing stations to enjoy hundreds of movies and documentaries on DVDs;
Weekly Events, including Monday Conversation Tables at 3 p.m. and Thursday Movie Days at 2 p.m. each Thursday;
Special Programs that support education, arts and culture; and
Exhibits and displays: A selection of paper shows focused on U.S. themes are available for loan to institutions. The IRC would be happy to support your program. Please check with the IRC for a complete list of paper shows.
