Acting PAO Leanne Cannon engages in conversation with Merdersa teachers

 

On Tuesday September 18, 2012 the Public Affairs Service of the US Embassy organized a reception at the American Club on behalf of the Malian Association of Teachers of Medersa and the Association of Owners of Medersa.  In her welcome speech, the Acting Public Affairs Officer expressed the desire of the Embassy to strengthen its current partnership with Medersas.  She also informed them that the Embassy will soon send out to most of the Medersas throughout the country copies of the civic education book in Arabic, the printing of which was sponsored by the US Embassy. 
About 60 invitees, including three women and the author of a civic education book, attended the reception.
The Embassy Political Officer also attended the event which lasted nearly two hours.
