Diplomats, Government Officials, and Employees of Designated Organizations
The information below applies for official travel only. Officials wishing to travel for pleasure should follow the instructions for visas for Business or Pleasure.
Applicants who work for the Government of Mali, another government recognized by the United States, or designated organizations:
- Complete and print out form DS-156 (in English) (en français)
- Complete form DS-157 (for males between 16 and 45)
- Have a passport with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the United States
- Have two photos that meet these specifications
- Have an Orde du Mission from your government or organization specifying your name, position and the specific reason for travel
Once you have the above list of items, please bring them to the Consular Section on Monday through Wednesday from 07:30 until 10:30. In most cases, the visa will be ready within two working days.
Although personal appearances are generally not needed for these types of visas, the Embassy reserves the right to fingerprint and interview any applicant.
Do not fax, e-mail, or send any documentation to the Embassy; it will be thrown away. Bring all documents with you to the Embassy.
