Workshop of Area English Teachers
Susan Strand, a Department of State English Language Fellow based in Dakar, traveled to Mopti to lead a workshop of area English teachers on the newest methodologies. Emphasizing strategies for working with large classes, Strand showed films, and led exercises so that teachers could experience the effect of the techniques themselves. At the end of the workshop, teachers worked in teams to incorporate their new teaching skills to their colleagues, and were provided with packets of teaching aids and books to enhance their efforts.
