Ambassador John Danilovich, Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, traveled to three African countries November 13-November 22, including to Mali as part of the United States Government’s official delegation for the Fourth Ministerial Conference of the Community of Democracies.

While in Mali, Ambassador Danilovich met with a variety of government officials and representatives of Malian civil society both in Bamako and in Segou.  During his time in the country, he reviewed progress on MCC’s investments to encourage economic growth and reduce poverty there. The $460 million Mali Compact focuses on three primary projects including expansion of large-scale irrigated agriculture, renovation and modernization of the Bamako-Sénou Airport, and development of an industrial park near the airport.
