Ambassador addresses youth at graduation of Embassy foundations of democracy class
After a 4-part seminar series on the foundations of American democracy, with comparative analysis to Mali's government, the university English Club and the Embassy co-hosted a graduation ceremony for the class participants. The course instructor, who was an Embassy volunteer, the university rector, who is a Fulbright alum, and the Ambassador all spoke, referencing Mali's recent military coup and the importance of actively applying and sharing democratic principles in today's context. The Ambassador distributed a book about the U.S. constitution to each student with their certificate of course completion.
