APAO Kathleen talks about America's shared values

Assistant Public Affairs Officer Kathleen Peoples visited a high school English class at the El Madani school in Lafiabougou on December 17th, 2009.  Her topic “America, A Melting Pot” highlighted America’s shared values in spite of and as a result of its immigration history and diverse population.  Students were encouraged to think of Mali’s diversity and to consider what shared values and initiatives would make for the most harmonious future.  Kathleen was accompanied by Aboubacar Cisse, Cultural Assistant.  The event was part of the Embassy Speaker Program.
