Non-Immigrant Visas
Diplomatic & Official Visas
If one is traveling to the United States on official business for the Government of the Mali or for an international organization or mission, s/he may apply for a diplomatic or official visa.
Given the complicated computer processes necessary to issue visas, the Consular Section now only processes visa applications on Mondays and Tuesdays. However, because of the importance of diplomatic and official visas, these requests may be made without an appointment any Monday or Tuesday (except U.S. and Mali holidays) from 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at the consular section. Requests for business/tourists visas in diplomatic or official passports may also be made without an appointment during these hours.
At the time of the request, applicants should provide the following items:
• A diplomatic note, note verbal, or mission order
• Travel authority/itinerary/orders from the sending government or organization, if applicable.
• The Electronic Visa Application Form (EVAF) signed in ink by the applicant
• One 1 inch by 1 inch photo on a white background
• Documentation demonstrating the applicant’s ties to Mali as well as the applicant’s role in the proposed voyage.
Fingerprinting and Fees
Applicants for diplomatic and official visas are not subject to U.S. fingerprint requirements and will not be charged the non-refundable, machine readable visa fee.
However, all applicants for business/tourist visas are subject to U.S. fingerprint requirements and all business/tourists visa applicants, except diplomatic passport holders, are subject to visa fees.
Derivatives
Individuals without a diplomatic note, note verbal, or mission order, or who is not listed on the diplomatic note, note verbal, or mission order, including the children of diplomatic or official passport holders, should make an appointment by calling +(223) 600-79-79, Monday thru Friday from 9h00 to 5h00. Please note that callers will be charged 150 CFA per minute for the call.
