U.S. Embassy Statement Condolences Following the Death of 9 People of Malian Descent in the Bronx, NY

It was with great sadness that we learned of the tragic passing of eight children and one adult of Malian origin in a house fire in Bronx, New York.  The Malian community in the United States is a culturally-rich addition to the fabric of our society, and we mourn the loss of its members.  On behalf of the people of the United States of America, the United States Ambassador to Mali and the entire staff of the U.S. Embassy in Bamako offer our deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to all of the family and friends of the victims.
